Meditation stacks with all other sources of Mana regeneration, including items, Warmth, and Mana Recharge Shrines. Even Paladins who are not dedicated to supporting party members can use this intermittently to ease mana upkeep, but this is especially powerful in the hands of a healing paladin, due to the fact that it also gives the same effect as the Paladin's Prayer aura at no mana cost. Even at level 1, it gives 75% (the same effect as a Mana Recharge shrine), and can greatly extend the amount of time a caster can spend casting spells before needing to stop and use a mana potion. Meditation greatly increases Mana regeneration. It is in these times of silent worship that the Paladin is rejuvenated in spirit. The Iron Golem summoned is very frail when pitted against the opponents found in Hell, especially considering it cannot benefit from the various skills and synergies Necromancers have, so it is of limited value. Iron Maiden is likely to not be useful either, given that all enemies in Hell have very high physical resistances and large health pools compared to their damage output. With the observance of this aura, the Paladin supplicates himself to the Light with silent utterances of prayers. However, since the level required to wear Metalgrid is very high, players are nearly guaranteed to be in Hell Difficulty by the time they can wear it. It also offers an extremely large flat attack rating boost. Defensively, Metalgrid is useful too, bestowing potentially the best increase to Resistances and Defense out of any amulet in the game. With charges for a very high level Iron Golem together with Iron Maiden, Metalgrid lives up to its name by cursing enemies to receive quite a bit of damage they inflict back. Metalgrid is a unique amulet from Diablo II.
